Shevlin Park is a perfect location in Bend for engagement photos. The park shows off the beautiful high desert landscape of Central Oregon. The upper ridge gives you a mountain view with high desert sage covered lands. The lower section of the park surrounds you with old growth ponderosa pines. I love bringing my couples to this location because it gives you a variety of looks with being in one area.
With Shevlin Park located minutes away from downtown Bend and Northwest Crossing, after your session you can plan to have dinner at one of the many great restaurants in the area. Some of my favorites are The Grove, Spork, Zydeco, and Brother Jon’s Public House.
Megan & Brent are having a summer wedding at Aspen Hall. So they wanted to have their engagement session at the same spot we are planning to do their wedding portraits. Aspen Hall is a great venue that is tucked into a woodsy area of Shevlin Park.
We started Megan & Brent’s engagement session popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate their upcoming wedding. In case you are wondering, I bring a bottle of bubbly to all engagement sessions to celebrate! We started out at the upper ridge which gave us clear blue skies with a mountain view. After a quick outfit change we made our way into the beautiful forested area of the park.
