When Tori & John inquired with me to photograph their Bend wedding I was beyond excited! They planned a destination wedding at Smith Rock State Park and their reception was at McMenamins in downtown Bend.
We started the day capturing the tiny details while Tori finished with her hair and makeup. My favorite detail was her “winning” lottery ticket! We did a portrait session at McMenamins before driving out to the ceremony site at Smith Rock. Once these two said their “I Do’s” we headed back to the reception site for dinner, dancing, and a few late night court yard portraits.
McMenamins was a great location for their out of town guest to stay for the weekend to celebrate their wedding and explore Bend. The Old St. Francis School in downtown Bend was transformed from a Catholic school built in 1936 into a hotel with classrooms turned into lodging rooms. McMenamins is such a unique property! They have several quaint bars, outdoor fire pits to gather around, a cozy movie theater, and a indoor bath house. Most importantly they have an onsite brewery. Add to your fun and search for the hidden bar and rooms on the property.
Tori & John’s intimate Smith Rock wedding was held at the North Point amphitheater. This is a great location for an outdoor wedding near Bend. The amphitheater is by reservation only and this will help you gain a little privacy for your ceremony. Smith Rock is a frequently visited year round by nature enthusiast. Also by reserving this space your guests will have seating to enjoy your ceremony and the nature surrounding them. Reservations need to be made six months in advance by contacting the Smith Rock State Park office.
